5/17/15 Stop Motion Animation

My video is how the game 1010 works and what it looks like when you play. I thought it would a little easy to do because you just took screenshots on your phone but it also took a long time to get 250 slides and you had to make sure that you didn't fail before you had them all. This is a game that I really enjoy playing so I thought it would be interesting to see what it looked like faster. I would rate mine an 8 because it's not that creative but it's still interesting to see what the game looks like in fast motion. I added music which, hopefully, made it a little more interesting and fun. I think that if I did this again, I would try to find another game that was more fun to watch and not as boring. My video is "outside the box" because it shows how the game 1010 develops and what it looks like when you get into the middle of the game. I feel that I deserve an A because I took my time with it and tried to make it more interesting with the music I added, but I do think that I could have tried to make it a tad more fun.

4/22/2015 Unethical Practice

1.Why do you think that most people use unethical practices to cheat academically?
I think that most people use unethical practices to cheat academically because they are very tired of working and they don’t want to keep going because they think it’s too hard for them. They would be better off doing their work themselves because it could ruin your future and expel you from your school. Even though they feel that they can’t do it, they still need to try hard and go through it.

2.Which one of the four offenses committed you think should have been let off with a warning rather than expelled? Why?
I think that of the four offenses committed, Sandra should have been left off with a warning rather than expelled because she was the one who did the work and she didn’t take someone’s work, like her partner did to her. I see why she was expelled because she knew of him copying down a few sentences, but I don’t think it was her fault that her partner copied off her and got them both in trouble. Also she wasn’t fully aware of what he was doing because she was working.

3.What kinds of problems will follow the students with this on their record?
The problems they will see plagiarism, ghost-writing, purloining, and collusion on their record. All of these things can affect what school they get accepted in, because of the things they did, and also it can affect what jobs they get because some places may think that they aren’t trust worthy enough to have an important job.
4.Search the unethical academic practices or plagiarism at the school you want to attend and see what the offense for these practices are and explain
For Iowa State University they do not tolerate plagiarism in the university. They have many policies including Policy on Academic Dishonesty, Faculty Handbook, and Code of Computer Ethics and Acceptable Use Policy. They do not allow plagiarism, copyright, etc.

3/9/15 Sphero Investigations

Lesson 1: Speed,Time, and Distance In this sphero lesson we downloaded the app Macrolab and we learned how to program sphero's and teach them how to move in certain directions or make them move a certain distance and turn around and come back to us. We also learned how to calculate distance and speed using the delay button when programming our sphero which helped us with other lessons along the way.

Lesson 2: 2D Geometry In this sphero lesson my partner and I learned how to make two-dimensional shapes using different angles that make shapes like for example a square would be 0,90,180,and 270. Also to make our spheros move in shapes we had to color coordinate the sphero using the RGB option in the sphero app Macrolab

Lesson 3: Mean, Median, and Mode, in this lesson my partner and I learned how to calculate The three M's using by calculating different tests by knocking a certain item many times or kind of like bowling to see how many pins we could knock over with our sphero and which from their we put the data from our tests on to our sheets.

Lesson 4: Percentages, for this lesson my partner and I calculated percentages with Macrolab. This lesson I thought was a lot like the first lesson with calculating speed, distance, and time but instead of doing that we calculated percentages using speed, time, and distance. Like I said it was a lot like the first lesson and all we really did was measured distances and calculated speed and turned them into percentages so I thought it was like doing something over again but with an extra step involved.

Lesson 5: Patterns and Colors; This lesson I thought was the most confusing and most difficult. Mainly because me and my partner struggled to actually figure out what to do even with the directions on Edmodo. But anyway what we did was used the RGB setting on Macrolab to create different patterns. The second thing we did was use Morse Code to incorporate the word Sphero into one of the patterns which I thought was interesting but very time consuming and confusing

1/27/15 Public Service Announcement

A public service announcement is an ad of some sort that raises awareness towards a social issue that is going on where you live or the world. It tries to change your attitude on the issue and make you change your mind to what people think should be the right thing. Two examples of a PSA is texting while driving and staying in school. Both are trying to get people to do the right thing by staying in school and not texting while driving.

1/15/15 My Favorite App

My favorite app that I am using right now is Instagram. You can share photos and videos and look at other peoples photos and videos. I really like this app because you can follow your friends and see what they post and also if you are a fan of someone famous then you can follow them and see what their daily lives are like and what they like to do. Whenever I am bored, I can go on Instagram and easily not be bored anymore. I really recommend getting Instagram and click here to find out more.

1/12/15 Collusion

The speaker was very concerned about all the tracking because he has a 9-year old daughter and they are tracking everything that she does, and as a parent he is concerned for his child to have someone looking at everything she does. The trackers may be looking to see what you are doing and put up ads to try and sell you something, download an app, or try to make you enter a contest to win one of their products. Tracking can be a good or bad thing. If they’re trying to help you get a better price for something then that is a good thing to have trackers but if you have a young child and it says to enter personal information to win something they won’t actually get, the tracker could get their information and that would be terrible. I was very surprised to see how many dots there were, and I bet I would have many because some websites have other links to other websites and I click on those and end up on a total different website then planned.
